Docking State Office Building

Docking State Office Building

Topeka, Kansas

This remodel preserves and celebrates legacy architecture of the original 1957 building. The project included complete demolition of the original 14-story structure and reconstruction with new structural systems and sustainable features. An atrium with full‐glass façade gives visual connection to the State Capitol while integrating high‐performing systems. Use of electrochromic glazing in the atrium to reduce solar heat gain in summer while allowing winter passive heating.
